Animal
physiotherapy
The goal of physiotherapy is to reduce pain, restore normal mobility, and improve the animal’s quality of life. Just as in humans, timely rehabilitation helps speed up the recovery process and prevent complications – whether the cause is trauma, surgery, or age-related changes in the joints.
When can rehabilitation help?
The most common reasons patients are referred to our physiotherapists include:
- recovery after orthopedic, neurological, or soft tissue surgery;
- back pain and muscle tension;
- muscle and tendon injuries (strains, tears);
- joint diseases and chronic mobility disorders;
- older pets experiencing muscle weakness or coordination problems;
- consultation for owners of sporting dogs with the goal of improving performance, endurance, and injury prevention.

Physiotherapy consultation
Every treatment process begins with an assessment of the patient’s current condition. During the initial consultation, the physiotherapist evaluates the animal’s gait, muscle tone, joint mobility, and identifies possible sources of pain.
Based on this assessment, we create an individualized rehabilitation plan that takes into account the animal’s diagnosis and physical abilities.
Treatment methods at EriVet
Depending on the condition, we combine different rehabilitation techniques. At our clinic, we offer:
- Hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill) – the buoyancy of water reduces stress on the joints, allowing muscles to be exercised safely and comfortably. It is one of the most effective methods used in post-operative rehabilitation;
- Laser and ultrasound therapy – to promote tissue healing and reduce inflammation and pain;
- Electrical stimulation therapy (TENS/NMES) – for pain relief and muscle stimulation;
- Rehabilitation exercises and massage – to restore muscle strength, flexibility, and symmetry.
